What is this tool?
Video Volume Changer adjusts the sound track of a video without re-encoding the picture, using FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. Because the video stream is copied frame for frame, the file finishes in seconds and the image quality is exactly as it was. Beside the manual slider there's automatic normalization, which measures the perceived loudness of the whole track and brings it to about -16 LUFS — the target streaming platforms use — so a recording that swings between mumbling and shouting comes out even. Fades are applied to the audio only, which is handy for cutting off an abrupt ending. Nothing is uploaded: the file never leaves your device.

FAQ
Will boosting the volume make it sound bad?
It can. Raising the volume amplifies the recording as it is, including background noise, and if the original is already near maximum the peaks can distort. If the level is uneven rather than simply too low, automatic normalization usually gives a better result than a big manual boost.
What does “even out the volume automatically” do?
It measures the perceived loudness of the whole sound track and adjusts it to roughly -16 LUFS, the level streaming platforms aim for. Quiet passages come up, loud ones come down, so the result is consistent instead of just louder.
Is the video re-encoded?
No. Only the audio is re-encoded, to AAC at 192 kbit/s. The video stream is copied through unchanged, which is why the process takes seconds and the picture is pixel-identical to your original.
My video has no sound. Can I still use this?
No — there has to be an existing sound track to change. If you want to add sound to a silent video, use the Add Music to Video tool instead.
