Can I download the audio as a file?
No — the browser speech API plays audio directly and doesn't expose it as a downloadable file. To capture it, use a system audio recorder while it plays.
Why do the available voices differ between devices?
Voices come from your operating system and browser. Windows, macOS, Android and iOS each ship different voices, and you can usually install more in your system settings.
Is my text sent to a server?
The text is handed to your device's built-in speech engine. Most system voices work fully offline; some platforms offer additional cloud voices that the OS may process remotely.
