Your files are processed locally in your browser. They are not uploaded to our servers.
How to use
- Choose or drag in a ZIP file — its contents appear as a list.
- Download individual files, or use “Download all” to save everything.
- Switch to “Create ZIP” to bundle several files into a new archive instead.
What is this tool?
ZIP Extractor opens ZIP archives directly in your browser: it lists every file inside with its size and lets you pull out exactly what you need without extracting the whole archive. The create mode does the reverse — it bundles files into a compressed ZIP for easier sharing. Because archives often contain sensitive documents, everything is processed locally; nothing is uploaded to any server.
Common uses
- Opening a received ZIP on a device without an archive app (tablets, work machines)
- Pulling one document out of a large archive without extracting everything
- Peeking inside a ZIP before extracting it
- Bundling several files into one attachment for email
FAQ
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The archive is read and created entirely in your browser — your files never leave your device, which matters because ZIPs often contain contracts, ID scans and other private documents.
Are password-protected ZIP files supported?
No — encrypted archives can't be opened. Remove the protection first, then extract here.
What about RAR or 7z files?
This tool handles the ZIP format only, which covers the vast majority of archives. RAR and 7z need a dedicated desktop app.
