What is this tool?
Image Pixelate & Blur applies a mosaic pixelation or Gaussian-style blur effect using your browser's Canvas API. Switch to "Specific areas" to hide just one or more regions — a face, a license plate, a line of text — while leaving the rest of the photo untouched, or use "Whole image" to cover the entire picture.
Common uses
- Blurring a face or license plate before posting a photo publicly
- Obscuring sensitive text or documents in a screenshot
- Creating a censored or redacted version of an image
- Applying a stylistic pixelated or soft-focus effect
FAQ
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. Processing happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API — the image is never sent to a server.
Can I pixelate just part of the image?
Yes. Switch to "Specific areas", drag a box onto each area you want to hide — a face, a license plate, some text — and resize it with the corner handle. Add as many boxes as you need; everything outside them stays untouched. You can also switch to "Whole image" to apply the effect everywhere instead.
What format is the downloaded image?
The processed image downloads as a PNG file, which preserves quality without additional compression artifacts.
